Christmas

We hope everyone had a great Christmas. We enjoyed Christmas Eve with Paul's family. They have a family party every year and it was a blast. It is awlays so much fun to get with everyone in the family and catch up on life's happenings. The food was great and we all enjoyed ourselves. Christmas Day we opened our gifts and then relaxed the rest of the day and enjoyed playing games as a family. We had a big meal and are still eating left over turkey. Aren't turkey sandwiches the best? We think so!
The boys are enjoying their holiday break. Trevor is freaking out a bit that his senior year is almost over. He reminds us almost daily that we about to have two sons graduated from High School! He tells us how old we are. Are we really? We don't feel it!
We are looking forward to a New Year's Eve party with my Mom, sisters and their families. This has become a tradition for us that we all enjoy. Get ready for me to kick your butts in all the fun games! :)

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving holiday and hope everyone else did as well. Paul, Trey and I headed to St. George on Wed. night. All of my sisters and thier hubbies and kids were getting together for the holiday. Tyler and Trevor both had to work early on Friday, so they stayed home and went to Grandpa's for dinner. We all had a good time. It was fun for us to visit with family. I am so thankful for all I have been blessed with. I have a great husband who takes good care of me and is my best friend. I have three wonderful boys! I have a loving Mother and sisters who I adore. As for my neices and nephews I could take them all home with me!

Now it is on to the Christmas season. Sometime this week I hope to get the tree up and decorated. I can't believe it is already December 1st. Enjoy the season.

Paul is finally home from Texas! He went to a two week training. I flew out for 6 days and got to see the sights. We had a blast. We left the boys home alone and they enjoyed themselves. My house was clean when I got home. Even the laundry was done. I guess I can go away more often now huh?

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving and getting together with family. My Mom bought a home in St. George and all of my sisters and their families are meeting there. I am excited to see everyone as well as Mom's new house. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I thought it was time to update our blog. We enjoyed our summer and the boys are back in school. Tyler is taking an EMT course and loving it! He decided not to return to Weber this semester. He is working and going to school. Trevor is loving his senior year. He is on the yearbook staff and has been to lots of events. They white-washed the V last week for homecoming. He had a good time. I didn't take pictures of him when he got home, but I wish I would have! He had two white hand prints on his chest and white paint in his hair and on his face. He went to the homecoming dance this weekend and had a good time. Our home computer is having issues, once I get it working again I will post pictures. Trey is also on the yearbook staff and is enjoying it. Trey is playing football and having a great season.

It's Official...we are now the Johnson Family

In May of '07 Paul was reunited with his father. I sent an announcement for Tyler's graduation to Paul's Dad expecting to not get a response. To our surprise Paul's Dad not only contacted us, but he came to the graduation. The last year has been wonderful getting to know him and his wonderful wife Julie, and the rest of the clan.

Paul has wanted to change his last name back to Johnson for many years but never had such a strong desire until he was reunited with his Dad. That desire became a reality on July 14th. We went to court and officially changed our last name to Johnson. Paul is his Father's only son and is so proud to carry on the family name.

Summer Update

We went to Paul's family's annual 4th of July Party. We had a blast! We look forward to this party each year and I have decided that I love the fourth of July! It is so nice to have a family holiday where you can celebrate your freedom, attend the parade, concert at the park, see fireworks and visit with family and friends. Trevor made three pinata's this year. He let us help with the project after a couple of days of him doing it and finding out what works and what didn't seem to work. That is something we hadn't tried to do. We had a good time learning how to make them and how to decorate them. It was fun filling them and we even filled one with water balloons just for Paul's oldest sister. That was fun to watch!

The boys are all doing good. Enjoying summer, working and taking merit badge classes for scouts. Trevor is flying to California for a few days to visit with my sister and her family. Her two oldest kids will be here visiting Grandma for a few days and Trevor gets to fly home with them. He is excited about flying, visiting, and getting to see some of the parks in California.

Summer has arrvived!

Today is Trevor's 17th birthday. Happy birthday Trevor! We are proud of you and love you so much. Trevor got his drivers license yesterday and had a party at the house. There were kids everywhere! Tonight he is going to a concert with a few friends.

Yesterday was the last day of school. YEAH! The boys are excited for their summer. Trey had a end of year pool party at a friend's house last night.

I am looking forward to a more relaxed schedule, picnic's in the park, family events and reading this summer. I am sure Paul and the boys will get a lot of fishing in. Today Paul, Tyler and his friend Jared and Trey are at the motocross races. I won tickets from a radio station and I hope they enjoy their day out.

Trevor won second place in the Youth catagory of the Chalk Art Festival even though he had his cast on the first night. He had to start drawing with his left hand. He got his cast off on Thursday when I took him to a specailist, so he was able to finish the drawing with out his cast. Trey helped him out the first night. It was a fun event and I look forward to it again next year. My Mom, Brooke and her little girls were able to go with me when the winners were announced.

Mother's Day

We had a very eventful weekend. Saturday we were able to get some of our garden planted, sprinklers repaired, and bought and delivered two Mother's Day gifts. Sunday we had a picnic at the park. We played cards, took pictures, ate and enjoyed each other's company. It was a wonderful day. This week has been filled with doctor visits. Trevor broke his arm right before school started this year and ever since the cast has come off he has had problems with it. He hurt it again at school and we made him wait 8 days until we took him to the doctor thinking it was just the same old pain. Well Friday the 9th I took him to the doctor who said he thought it was broken again and put Trevor in a full arm cast. Trevor was really bummed because this week is the Chalk Art Festival he has been looking forward to participating in. Our family doctor recommeded that Trevor see a specialist which I took him to today. After they cut Trevor cast off and did more X-rays they sent us to LDS Hopsital for an MRI. We are awaiting results from that. At least Trevor isn't in a cast at this point and he is able to draw in the Chalk Art Festival. Tyler has been to the doctor twice this week and we are waiting for blood results. Needless to say it has been a BUSY week!

Crazy Weather

It is snowing as I type and yes it is May 1st. The weather sure has been crazy lately! Monday was beautiful and 75 and this morning we woke up to light snow on the ground and it has been snowing ever since. We haven't started working in our garden because of the crazy weather. Hopefully by Mother's Day we will be able to plant a few things.

Life

We have been busy lately. We went as a family ( something that doesn't happen very often) to our Scout Dinner/Auction Friday night. We had a good time. Tyler bid on an hour flight around the area with a pilot in our ward. He and another ward member both wanted this so the bodding went right up until the last second. Tyler won and is excited about that. Trey has a scout campout at Antelope Island this weekend. Trevor is getting ready for the Chalk Art Festival in Bountiful next month. He is trying to decide what he is going to draw. Our driveway should look very colorful for the next few weeks as he pracitices and decides what he will do next month. I will have to take pictures so you can see what it looks like.

American Idol

Ok I can't believe I am even going to blog about this, but did you see the show last night!? I love Andrew Lloyd Webber and they sang his songs. David A. did such a GREAT job! I loved it. I don't download music, but I would download his song in a second! I hate to admit I think Brooke might be going home. I think she is great but having to restart your song on live TV just doesn't go over well. I even enjoyed David Cook's song up until the last few notes.

Trey is 13!

Today is Trey's birthday. I am now the Mother of 3 teenagers! I tried to talk Trey out of his birthday this year but he wouldn't hear of it. We are going to celebrate this weekend and he will have his friends over for a party. I am so proud of Trey and all he does. He has been serving in the deacon's quorum and setting a good example for the other boys in the ward. He works very hard at his school work and takes pride in his assignments. He has so many friends and is a good friend to all of them. It's fun (even though I am sad about it) to watch him grow up.

Spring Snow

We woke up this morning to snow on the ground. I guess the forecasters were right. My sister and her kids are driving in from California so I hope the weather warms up some. Friday night Paul, Trey, Trevor, My Mom and I went to see the play Big River at RMT. My Mom bought tickets and treated us to a night of fun. I was surprised to hear that even the boys enjoyed it.
Trey had a bunch of friends over for most of the day Saturday. Then about 6:30 the girls showed up and they watched a movie. From the sounds of it they all had a good time. Trevor spent time with a friend Saturday at the mall and then they went to see a movie.

This week should be a fun filled family week. I love it when my sister's come to visit!

Long Easter Weekend

What a fun weekend! On Friday night Trey and his cousins went to Grandpa and Grandma Johnson's house for a sleep over. Then on Saturday we all went to Becky and Nick's house for the Johnson family Easter dinner. Becky's house is decorated so cute! It made me want to break out the paint cans in my own house. Trey participated in the egg hunt and had a great time. It was fun to visit with everyone and enjoy the family time. On Sunday Michelle and her family and my Mom came over for dinner. We enjoyed eating and visiting. I made a ham for the first time and I can't believe how easy it was. Where have I been all these years? The weather sure has been nice the weekend and we have had the windows open as much as we possibly can.

More Snow

It has been such nice weather lately. There have been days I have come home from work and opened the windows. We are all so ready for spring! We were enjoying all the nice weather and then Saturday afternoon it had to snow. We got about two inches again.

Yesterday we got a few things done and enjoyed spending time with Trevor. We don't usually get to see him on Saturday because he is with his friends, so we really enjoyed a few hours with him. Trey was over a friends house most of the day Saturday and had a great time.

Tyler had a hockey game Thursday night. His games start at 9: 15 or later, so I don't usually go. I guess this game got a bit out of hand and Tyler took a pretty good hit to his chest. He couldn't get up off the ice and he was having trouble breathing from the hit. The paramedics were called and came to take Tyler off the ice. He told them he didn't want to leave the ice on a back board and guess what? Since he is 18 he can make that choice! So Paul took Tyler to the ER and Kristin came to pick me up. They did an EKG and Xray and found that he seperated his sternum from his ribs. There isn't anything that can be done to help it heal and they told him he would be sore for about 6-8 weeks. We got home from the ER at 1 AM on Friday morning. He took Friday off work and went to work Saturday for half of the day.

Last night I went to see Civil War with my Mom and Michelle at Hale Theater. It was so good. I really enjoyed it. The music and the story were touching. In April we want to go see Annie Get Your Gun. I think Trey would like to see that one with us.

Three day weekend

It was so nice to have a long weekend! On Saturday Paul and I took Trey to the Gateway in Salt Lake to see a movie. There wasn't anything playing that we wanted to see, so we had lunch and walked around. When we got to Dick's Sporting Goods Trey saw the climbing wall. He hasn't ever done any climbing, but wanted to give it a try. We waited in line until it was his turn. He did GREAT! He climbed that wall all the way to the top. He had such a good time. Then we went bowling. I wasn't doing to great because I couldn't find the right ball. Without me knowing Trey had them put the bumpers up when it was my turn. It only took me one ball to figure out that something was different. I took my bumpers off and had some put on for Trey. We bowled a couple games and had a great time! I have to add that I beat both Paul and Trey on the last game ( without bumpers I might add!). Sunday I had a meeting with a member of the Bishopric to receive a calling. I have torn feelings about it and asked for some time to think it over. I know we have been told not to turn down callings so I forsee lots of time on my knees here in the next few days. Today Trevor hung out with his friends and was able to get a little bit of longboarding in, since the weather was nice. Trey and I went to the Rec Center and walked. All in all it has been a nice, relaxing weekend.

Sick me...sick kids

I spent four days last week in bed. Wasn't much fun. I was finally feeling a little better on Saturday and I was looking forward to getting back to normal, that was until Trevor got sick. He did great until the afternoon and then it hit him pretty hard. Trey had friends over from Idaho and so we were trying to keep all the sick people away from the healthy people. We thought we had done that until Trey got up Sunday morning and was sick! I feel bad that my boys are sick now because I know this virus isn't any fun. I hope our Idaho friends don't get it as well. At least I can open the blinds and look outside and see the sun. It is starting to feel like spring. It is still cold and there is still at least a foot of snow on the ground, but the sun has been out for a few days! Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.

Paying respects to a wonderful man

Well today we took some time out of our busy lives to pay respect to the Prophet. What a wonderful man. The veiwing was beautiful. It is always good to know that the work will go on. President Hinckley did so much good for our Church and inspired so many people to be kind to each other. I will miss his sense of humor at conference and the wonderful spirit he brought to being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was such a good example to us all.

January 29th

Today is six weeks since my hysterectomy. I feel great!!! I am back to doing most of the things I did before. Last week I walked at the Rec Center for 4 days and yesterday I even vacuumed the house. I really can't complain about the recovery and I feel so much better now that I am really glad I had it done. Yesterday we had another snow storm. Trey tried to take pictures of all the snow we have but there is something wrong with our camera. I will need to have it looked at I guess. Only 51 more days till Spring! Have a great week!!

January 26th

What a Saturday. Today we got so many things done. Paul baked bread almost all day and the boys ate at least a loaf (or more) of it. We took Trevor and Trey to the Rec Center and we all walked a mile. Then we came home and the weather was so nice Trevor was able to go longboarding for a while. Trey played Xbox. Paul and I cleaned out closets, went through boxes, sorted pictures and made a large DI pile. Once that was done we took the items to the DI and went back to the Rec Center where Paul and I walked another mile. Feels great to get so many things done in one day! If it were spring I could call it Spring cleaning. So what do you call it in January?

January

We are ready for Spring! I think the boys and Paul are all tired of shoveling. We have enjoyed the fireplace and lots of hot chocolate.
